A Full Review of the Circus Circus Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada

Overall, the experience that the Travel Nerds had at the Circus Circus Hotel and Resort was not pleasant. First off, this hotel was opened in 1968 and still looks and feels like it’s 1968, it even looks like the original carpet in the lobby. The hotel guest experience does not seem like it is the priority of this hotel, to be able to check-in is not only located through the casino but actually through 2 full casinos, around the corner from the elevators and then down a hallway. You have to walk almost a mile inside the casino to find the front desk from where you are able to be dropped off.

Once you check-in you have to pay the Resort Fee which is supposed to give you access to WIFI, the pool, a fitness center, printing of your boarding passes, and unlimited local and toll-free calling. This is crazy because the airline will print your pass, you have a cell phone so you don’t need to make calls on the room phone, also the internet was terrible and kept dropping, and was better to go to the McDonalds next door and use their WiFi.

The rooms were ok, spacious, and comfortable but the bathrooms were tiny and there are very few outlets in the room, we had to plug things in random spots of the room because there was no outlet next to the bed. Also, if you like having breakfast you will have to leave the hotel, they have 1 ½ breakfast offerings including a deli and a Krispy Kreme (with very rude staff), if you want to sit and eat some bacon and eggs you have to go to another place.  This is a pain because the location of Circus Circus is on the South End of the Strip, the actual end so you are not near much else other than the convention center, it’s a good 10-15 min walk to another restaurant and casino. They do have some great options for lunch and dinner, but definitely need something new for breakfast.

When we brought up the concerns to the front desk before we checked out, we were told that is how it is and we can go online and send a message about our experience and someone would reach out.  They showed no interest in helping resolve the situation and just told us we have to pay the resort fee no matter what. This experience was a bad one for our team and we will not be looking to go back to Circus Circus anytime soon.
