This morning Disney World sent out an update regarding the reopening of some more of its Resort Hotels. This is super exciting because they are opening up some more hotels of every level from Deluxe to Value. They announced the following open dates for the following resorts:

  • July 29: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
  • Aug. 24: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort
  • Sept. 21: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Oct. 4:  Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Oct. 14: Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
  • Nov. 1: Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Disney also did have this to say about the re openings:

We are committed to reopening Disney Resort hotels, though at this time we have decided to adjust the reopening dates for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort due to the current environment. While we had previously shared reopening dates for Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, these Disney Resort hotels will remain closed until further notice while we continue to reevaluate their reopening timeline.

We think this is a good sign and we are happy to see the Value Resorts get some attention and start to reopen as well. Although these are not guaranteed and obviously could still change at any time, we are excited to see some dates role out and get some new goals going. On the safe side however Disney did also say:

Due to the fluidity of the current environment, we will continue to evaluate adjustments to Disney Resort hotel opening dates as needed and when the timing is right to do so. These dates are still subject to change, and reservations for stays at Disney Resort hotels not yet open could still be impacted.

Lastly, they did also send out a communication directly to guests addressing some of these issues and they are at least helping them get into a resort and not forcing them to pay additional costs for the move. The communication from Disney was:

Please accept our sincerest apologies and know how much we appreciate you choosing to stay with us. We’re happy to reaccommodate you at one of the Disney Resort hotels that will be open during your stay. Of course, this will happen at no additional charge. Please contact your Travel Professional to discuss the Resort and room type options available to you and to assist with modifying your Disney Resort hotel. This modification will have no impact to other vacation experiences you may have booked, such as Theme Park reservations or dining.

Overall this is good news and looks like Disney World is continuing to stay aware of health concerns and the safety of its guest, but also trying to get things back up and running. They are stating to open Value Resorts and get all tiers of the Resort Hotels available again to guests. Hopefully we will get the list for the rest of the re-openings soon!

If you had a reservation at Disney World, in a resort that is not going to be, please reach out to us and we can help you navigate the switch to another Resort Hotel.
