Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa

We received a new communication from Disney regarding Aulani, they said the following:

UPDATE: Aug. 19, 2020

Aulani Resort remains closed and a reopening date has not been identified. We will continue to follow guidelines from government and health officials as we plan our reopening.

As a result, reservations at the resort throughout the month of September will be canceled. We understand that some guests may have reservations booked at Aulani Resort during this time. We encourage you to contact these guests to determine a future date for their vacations. For stays occurring during the month of September, room reservations can be canceled and Disney will waive Disney-imposed room reservation cancellation penalties.

Upon reopening, Aulani Resort rooms, restaurants and other locations may be limited in capacity and subject to restricted availability or closure based on direction from health experts and government officials to promote physical distancing. Furthermore, experiences, services and amenities may be modified, have limited availability or may remain closed. Offerings are not guaranteed. Aulani Resort reserves the right to cancel any reservations or purchases and provide applicable refunds.

This is a not so shocking piece of news, there have been numerous updates about Hawaii taking some major hits in the tourism industry due to COVID-19. It’s such a problem being on a small island, and the Hawaiian Government is doing all it can to keep it alive.

RJT Travels is hopeful that is will open back up soon and start to get back to the same old beautiful Hawaiin Tourist magnet it was.
