Walt Disney World, the most magical place on Earth, here at RJT Travels, we love a good show just as much as a ride or a dole whip. We sat down and discussed our favorites and we picked the best one from each park.
Epcot – we chose Turtle Talk With Crush. The Turtle Talk show is a Nemo inspired show that’s located in the Living Seas pavilion at Epcot. It’s a completely interactive 10-15 minute show for kids. During the show, you’ll see Crush and Squirt have full conversations with the kids and it creates a memorable experience for everyone involved. Its air-conditioned and great for families who need a break in the day.
Animal Kingdom – we picked The Festival of the Lion King. This is located in Camp Minnie Mickey and it’s the only show on the property to use a 1,450 seat air-conditioned amphitheater. The show tells the story of the Lion King through music and acrobatics. All the music is live and there are full-size audio-animatronics of all your favorite Lion King pals. The show lasts about a half-hour and keeps your interest the whole time. There are also interactive parts where they bring in people from the crowd and talk to them. Between the more authentic African attire with bright colors and the incredible stunts and tricks, this is a great way to beat the heat while still feeling that Disney magic.
Magic Kingdom – we picked The Carousel of Progress. The Carousel of Progress is an indoor 21-minute show that takes you into the life of a regular family in the 1890s. It tells you about the “new inventions” they use and how technology has advanced. The show has moving seats that move around a circular theater taking you to each different platform. At each new platform, you’ll see the same family in different time periods like the 1890s, 1920s, 1940s, and “the future”. Also, while watching the show you’ll hear an original soundtrack by the Sherman brothers that debuted with the ride at the 1964 world’s fair. It’s an enjoyable show that has aged well and is considered to be one of Magic Kingdom’s most classic shows.
Hollywood Studios – we chose Fantasmic! We love Fantasmic and so does almost everyone who’s ever seen it. It’s a half-hour show in Hollywood Studios, that uses lights, projections, water, fire, fireworks, and live characters who do stunts. It’s unlike every other show on the property and is enjoyable every time you watch it. Once the show starts you’ll follow Mickey as he must battle the darkness in his imagination. As he turns to the heroes for help, you’ll see all your favorites including, Lion King, Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, and so many more. Not to mention all your favorite villains make an appearance too! It’s a crazy, daring, and imaginative adventure that we highly recommend.
I hope you like our picks and take them into consideration on your next magical trip to Disney World.
