First impressions

An open-air arrival surrounded by mountain views

The lobby was open-air and relatively simple, with check-in counters, seating, and a bar. What immediately grabbed my attention was the view beyond it.

Looking out from the lobby, I could see fountains leading toward the main pool, with accommodations positioned on either side. The central view helped me understand the resort’s layout without feeling like I had arrived in the middle of a maze.

The surrounding landscape was one of the most memorable parts of my visit. The green mountains and hills created scenery that reminded me of Hawaii while still feeling distinctly Caribbean.

Accommodations

Inside the room I stayed in

My room had a separate living area with a couch, television, and its own bar setup. There was a sink, mini refrigerator, coffee equipment, and storage, making it feel like somewhere you could comfortably spend part of the afternoon.

A hallway led past closet space to the bathroom and bedroom. I appreciated practical details such as shelving, an umbrella, robes, and a safe. They may be small features, but having places to organize everything makes settling in easier.

The bathroom and balcony stood out

The bathroom had two sinks, a bathtub, a separate walk-in shower with a bench, and an enclosed toilet area. A privacy glass wall separated the tub area from the bedroom.

Outside, the balcony included seating and another soaking tub, with curtains that could be drawn for privacy. My view included resort buildings and the main pool area, with swim-up accommodations below.

Pool experience

The main pool is the center of the action

Walking down from the lobby, the main pool became the focal point. It extended along the center of the resort with a swim-up bar and views of the surrounding landscape.

During my visit, the bar area had televisions showing programming, including sports, and music played around the pool. It felt like a natural gathering point for guests who wanted a more social pool day.

The pool’s central position also made it a useful landmark. It connected the arrival view with the rest of the property and helped me stay oriented while walking around.

A quieter alternative

The heart-shaped pool offered a different pace

Behind the Jerk Shack and coffee shop, I found a heart-shaped pool that felt much quieter during my walkaround.

There were loungers, umbrellas, and places to relax in the water. What I noticed most was the change in atmosphere: the main pool had more activity, while this area felt better suited to reading, resting, or spending quiet time together.

Pool atmosphere can change depending on the guests and scheduled activities, but seeing both areas showed that couples could choose a different pace without leaving the resort.

Dining and entertainment

The courtyard connects restaurants and gathering spaces

The central courtyard included the recognizable heart sculpture, fountains, and a stage, with restaurants, shops, and other facilities positioned nearby.

During my walk, I pointed out Three Jewels, Blum, Buccan, and the Jerk Shack. In daylight, the courtyard looked like a comfortable place to grab coffee and sit. The stage and seating also made it a natural gathering area for evening entertainment.

The arrangement helped the property feel manageable to me. I could see how the courtyard connected with the pool and surrounding buildings.

Beachfront setting

More than one way to enjoy the ocean view

At the beach, I found loungers, umbrellas, open sand, and a marked swimming area. I also liked the swimming pool positioned above the beachfront because it allowed guests to enjoy an ocean view while relaxing beside a pool.

Nearby, the beach village brought together restaurants and outdoor seating. My walkaround included Scrimshaw, Sora, the pizzeria, and Parisol. The scenery remained part of the experience even when I was heading to a meal.

Couples who enjoy both pools and the beach do not necessarily have to choose one experience. The resort provides several ways to relax near the water while still enjoying the mountain backdrop.
